To commemorate the legendary Porsche that inspired its development, a “50 Years of the 550 Spyder” Boxster S Anniversary Edition was recently added as a 2004 model. This limited edition model honors one of Porsche's most famous models with performance and styling enhancements not previously available on any Boxster model.

In the middle of it all is the most powerful Boxster engine to date, producing 264-hp (SAE). Additional upgrades further improve the already exceptional performance and handling of the Boxster S, most of which are typically options on other Boxster models.

Exterior styling includes a rare GT Silver Metallic exterior finish, a dark brown, Cocoa, soft top, Seal Grey metallic wheel spokes and chrome-plated polished lettering on the rear deck lid. Cocoa and GT Silver also dominate the car's special interior.

Production of the “50 Years of the 550 Spyder” Boxster S is limited to 1953 units. A plate on the center console indicates each car’s production number. The car goes on sale in North America in March 2004 at a price of $59,900 US and $85,300 CAN.

For the Porsche enthusiast who desires true Porsche performance and day-to-day practicality, the Porsche Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo deliver. In the year since their introduction, these two models have earned the praise of the industry press and enthusiasts alike. This year the line was expanded with the addition of the V6-powered Cayenne. Adding a third choice in terms of performance, practicality and price.

Now the line starts with the Cayenne, which debuted at the 2004 Los Angeles and Detroit auto shows. Cayenne models arrived in showrooms on January 10, 2004 at a starting MSRP of $42,900 (USA) and $60,850 (CAN). The new 24-valve, 3.2-liter V6 produces 247-hp (SAE) and 229 lb-ft of torque, enabling the Cayenne to reach a top track speed of 133 mph. The new V6 also qualifies the Cayenne as a low-emissions vehicle. And of course, it offers the same off-pavement prowess as its siblings.

Next in line is the Cayenne S. Its impressive 4.5-liter V8 power plant produces 340-hp (SAE) and 310-lb-ft of torque and hustles the Cayenne S from 0 to 62 mph in 7.2 seconds and a top track speed of 150 mph. Like its other two stable mates, the Cayenne S features a number of advanced driver aids that give it extreme sure footedness on-road and off. The MSRP for the Cayenne S begins at $55,900 (USA) and $78,250 (CAN).

At the top of the line is the Cayenne Turbo. Its twin turbo 4.5-liter V8 produces a staggering 450-hp (SAE) and 460 lb-ft of torque, catapulting it from 0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds and to a top track speed of 165 mph. The Cayenne Turbo carries an MSRP of $88,900 (USA) and $125,100 (CAN). Its many standard features include the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system and an adjustable air suspension that can be raised or lowered from 6.18 to 10.75 in.
